To overcome these, she began riding.

During the past eight years, she has traveled to 14 countries, including 12 countries where she is a cyclist, relying on part-time jobs and a small monthly pension.

“66 days of cycling through five European countries, 44 days of cycling in Thailand, and a month of crossing Russia by train from east to west…

Li Dongju didn’t carefully calculate how far he had traveled, and felt that the total mileage could circle the Earth twice.”.

On the road, she sometimes feels “hell”, and sometimes the beautiful scenery puts her in “heaven”.

As the road under the wheel gradually extended, Li Dongju felt that his body and mind had changed.

“Her eyes are no longer empty, and all the difficulties in the past have been put aside…

At present, she plans to recuperate her body and ride again in China.”/ Riding for Exercise/Li Dongju’s home is in Zhengzhou, Henan Province.

He worked as a textile worker in his early years and later worked as a warehouse keeper in a car factory.

Before 2014, her life circle was small, and without the company of family and friends, she rarely even walked out of Zhengzhou.

“When I went out, I couldn’t even distinguish between the southeast, the northwest, and the northwest.” On March 9th, Li Dongju recalled in an interview with Jimu News reporters, in addition to traveling out of the province with her unit once, and riding a bicycle with her son on a long journey, the mother and son had ridden 30 kilometers that time, which was already far away for her.

The accident occurred after 2005.

Due to family reasons, Li Dongju’s spirit fluctuated and she could only sleep two or three hours a day.

The doctor said that she had depression, and she felt like Xianglin sister-in-law, talking about her own affairs all day.

Grandma Zeng was Li Dongju’s colleague and neighbor.

She recalled that Li Dongju was in a bad mental condition at that time, and her eyes were straight when she looked at people.

The condition lasted for several years.

Li Dongju can’t remember when he liked riding because of his poor memory.

She only recalled that she had started cycling with the idea of exercising her body.

Seeing the handsome equipment of cycling enthusiasts on the street, she was also moved and bought a cycling hat.

Afterwards, she felt that her bicycle, which was only 100 yuan, did not match the hat, so she changed her bike.

At that time, my son spent 1100 yuan to buy her a mountain bike.

Riding exercises have made Li Dongju know many friends.

She was also moved to hear from her cyclists that she wanted to ride, but there were requirements for how many kilometers a day she could ride, and she couldn’t keep up, so she had to give up.

“People can ride more than 100 kilometers a day, but I can’t ride that far,” Li Dongju said.

Around 2012, she began to form her own riding group and find suitable riding friends to travel with.

In just a few years, her group has joined three or four hundred cyclists.

Through chatting with group friends, Li Dongju also learned about popular online words such as “couch potato.”.

At first, the family was worried about her safety and didn’t want her to travel by bike, but everyone was happy to see Li Dongju’s mental health improve after riding.

Finally, in 2014, Li Dongju began his first long-distance riding/ In November 2014, Li Dongju and two other companions began a trip to Southeast Asia, expected to pass through Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, and Thailand.

The trip didn’t go well.

Li Dongju recalled that he had no experience of going abroad and did not change his mobile phone card after going abroad.

Shortly after arriving in Vietnam, my companions were separated due to different riding speeds.

The language barrier prevented Li Dongju from successfully seeking help from local people.

Finally, she had no choice but to go back to China through a Chinese guy who worked in Vietnam, and her subsequent journey could not continue at all.

Although I only cycled for about ten days, the thousands of yuan I had saved before have been spent.

“The family was already worried, but if I failed the first time, I was afraid I wouldn’t be allowed out again.” Li Dongju said, saying that she hadn’t told her family about that experience, fearing that they might suspect her.

She even went to Lijiang and worked for three months.

During the Spring Festival of 2015, she also took her son and his family to Lijiang for the New Year.

The family saw her safe and sound, which reassured them.

In the following days, Li Dongju did not give up riding.

In early 2015, after riding Sanya with her riding friends, she began a trip to Tibet between May and June of that year.

“Sharp” is a Teddy dog, already 11 years old this year, which is over 60 years old when converted to adult age.

In 2015, it accompanied Li Dongju into Tibet.

Not only does Li Dongju have high reflexes during the ride, but also “sharp” is uncomfortable.

Li Dongju said that due to age, some sections are for cycling, and some sections are for riding.

The muscles of the “sharp” legs have atrophied, causing pain when the dog sits down.

She should often let the “sharp” get off and walk.

On the return trip, she originally wanted to check in for “Xili”, but unfortunately she couldn’t.

However, she had no choice but to start cycling out of Tibet from Lhasa again, and it was very hard to come down all the way.

In June 2015, Li Dongju was riding in Xinjiang, and in July 2015, she was riding in Qinghai.

When she was walking around Qinghai Lake, she encountered a disabled person, which brought about a change in her outlook on cycling and life in the future.

Li Dongju said that her fellow cyclists were faster, but she rode much slower and lagged behind.

However, one day, at the lake, she saw a disabled person sitting in a wheelchair with a bottle of water on it.

She quickly extended her thumb, and the two took a photo together.

During the conversation, she was particularly moved by the story of the disabled person.

Later, she thought for a moment and felt that if she rode fast, she wouldn’t have the chance to meet these people and know their stories.

Therefore, she didn’t rush on the road anymore, and she was very casual when riding.

When she saw a good scenery, she stopped and slowly enjoyed it.
