Is there anything cooler than cycling to Mars together
Riding through the surface of Mars is not a science fiction blockbuster.
Human exploration of Mars has a long history, although data shows that over the past few decades, the success rate of Mars exploration has been less than 50%.
But ‘although the road is far, it cannot be reached’, the heart of human exploration is always on the way.
A few days ago, a 10 person cycling team set off for Mars.
However, the term ‘Mars’ here does not refer to the one in outer space, but rather to the Cold Lake Mars Camp in Qinghai Province, which is closest to the Martian landscape on Earth.
Guinness Cycling World Record holder and Yadi Chief Cycling Officer Song Jian described it as “an unprecedented challenge” because it is not common to come here on two wheels.
From August 28 to 29, Song Jian and nine Yadi users recruited by the whole network formed a “Guanneng exploration team”, which lasted two days and one night, arrived at the core area of the Aoboliang Yadan landform group from Qinghai Mars One Road, via the Cold Lake Mars Camp, and returned to the Mars camp energy station, completing the 134 km “Mars” cycling exploration trip.
Riding to “Mars” is a kind of experience.
The Cold Lake Mars Camp is China’s first Mars simulation base, located in the Cold Lake area of Mangya City, Haixi Prefecture, Qinghai Province.
Whether standing in it or looking down from the air, it gives people a sense of reality away from the surface of the Earth.
Before arriving here, Guanneng knights had a taste of “appetizer” – Mars One Highway.
This is the only route to the Cold Lake Mars base, and the Canon Knights must depart from a 0 kilometer mark, passing through complex terrain such as Gobi Desert, gravel road, washboard road, and steep crater before finally arriving.
In addition, the huge temperature difference between day and night, as well as the harsh sandstorm weather, have also increased the difficulty of cycling.
Although the Yadi Electric Car 1515 has been bumpy all the way, it is truly immersed in the wonders of this deep desert landscape, and the Crown Knights only have two words left in their hearts: ‘worth it’.
This is a mature Yadan landform, which is also very rare in the world.
The international outdoor sports imaging brand Banff China, where outdoor enthusiast Makino is located, provided professional support for this ride.
In his opinion, the characteristics of Yadan landform are different, but the most enjoyable thing is still here.
Manually pitch a tent, face the vast and silent Oboliang, and brew a cup of fresh goji berries that can only be tasted in the country of origin, chatting with the Crown Knights and gazing at the Milky Way from afar.
Is there anything cooler than this? This may also be the reason why more and more people are fond of “measuring the world with two wheels”.
Nowadays, people are no longer satisfied with just a taste of travel
