Adjusting my life to ‘cycling mode’, my dopamine in life is self-made
The first thing I do when I wake up in the morning is to touch my phone and inject a “wake-up shot” into my brain using the red subscripts of unread messages and fragmented information recommended by algorithms.
On the commute, my earphones are filled with high-speed podcasts and short video songs, afraid that my brain will have even a minute of free time.
During work breaks, fingers unconsciously pull down to refresh social media, using others’ glamour to stimulate one’s numb nerves.
Lying in bed at night, retaliating to the point of fighting on the eyelids, just to squeeze out the last bit of instant, shallow joy of the day.
