The engine RA250 is equipped with a water-cooled four-valve single-cylinder engine, code PY250, with the actual displacement of 249.2cc, the maximum output power of 20.5KW/9000 rpm, and the maximum torque of 22NM/7000 rpm.

This engine is also used on the RE250 and Zongshen Apulia GPR250 of SECKOLON, which is the main model of SECKOLON in the 250 displacement class.

Its reliability has been verified.

However, the data of cylinder diameter * stroke of the PY250 engine mounted on the RA250 has been fine-tuned, and the output of the middle and low speed areas has also been deliberately emphasized in the tuning of the EFI system.

The low torque has become more powerful to adapt to the driving characteristics of the cruise car.

This will be obvious if you have tested driving the RE250 before.

This engine is also equipped with the FCC brand sliding clutch, which is not only softer in the feel, but also ensures that the rear wheels will not easily lock and drag under special circumstances, which is very helpful for safety.

How about vibration suppression of RA250 engine? My personal feeling is that when the speed is less than 5500 rpm, the vibration of the engine is not big, and it is completely acceptable.

Because there is no tachometer, judging from the sound wave and body feeling, the vibration suppression of the handlebars and pedals is still good after the speed of the RA250 is about 5500 rpm, but the high-frequency vibration transmitted from the hips is still clear and discernible.

If this vibration is in the urban area or during the short distance driving, it will not cause you too much trouble, If even this is unacceptable, it should be considered that electric motorcycle is more appropriate.

But if it is driving on a long distance or highway, there must be discomfort.

I think the vibration depends on the threshold of personal acceptance.

Single-cylinder cars should also pay attention to sound? Many people have this question, yes, I think so.

At the very least, it can’t be as bad as a broken gong.

Fortunately, the thick exhaust pipe designed by Secolon on the RA250 should have been adjusted, and the sound is relatively pure and thick.

The final gear ratio of the RA250 transmission has also been carefully adjusted.

The rear sprocket appears to be larger than other models with the same displacement, which brings better acceleration ability.

It does not need to deliberately increase the speed to start smoothly.

The second gear can maintain a stable driving at the minimum speed of 20KM/H without dragging gear, which means that the low torque output of the RA250 is still in line with the positioning of the cruise car.

However, in theory, the front and rear sections of the engine are very flat, However, thanks to the inherent high speed characteristic of PY250 engine (maximum power output at 9000 rpm), according to my actual measurement, the RA250 three-gear can show more than 100, reaching the maximum speed of 103KM/H, which is even more vigorous than some of the same level of imitation racing.

For a single-cylinder 250-displacement cruise car, this sports ability is quite good.

The clutch engagement point is clear and easy to identify, and the hand feeling is soft.

Try to pull the clutch to the speed of 90KM/H through the fourth gear and then quickly downshift to the second gear.

Slack the clutch pull rod, and the rear wheel will recover immediately after a slight delay.

There is no drag mark left on the ground.

This shows that the sliding clutch really plays a role, which is not often encountered in daily use, However, it can effectively guarantee the safety of drivers under special circumstances (such as before turning in rainy days).

The handle of the handling RA250 is also a one-word handle that highlights the sense of movement.

The upper body of the riding posture is slightly forward, but the handle is more backward because of the height increase.

Therefore, even the female rider who is not tall will not have the dilemma of short hand when turning when driving the RA250.

On the whole, the setting of the sitting posture of the RA250 is very reasonable.

The design style of the RA250 is close to 883, so the specifications of the front and rear wheel hubs are 18 inches and 15 inches respectively.

The cruise car with high front and low rear trend curve has very good stability when driving on the straight road.

Although it is a small displacement cruise car with a curb weight of only 163KG, it does not feel a flicker even when driving at a speed of more than 100 kilometers per hour, bringing a very strong sense of stability to the rider, which is one of the advantages of the RA250.

However, the 18-inch diameter of the front wheel will bring a slightly sluggish steering ability, which is relative to those cruise cars with 16-inch diameter of the front and rear wheels, namely the so-called BOBBER style.

In order to alleviate this phenomenon, several body geometric parameters of the RA250 have been carefully deliberated by the designer.

For example, the wheelbase is controlled within 1450 mm, slightly longer than the Kinjira 300, but much shorter than the TR300.

The front fork drag distance angle is close to the setting of the street car, and the front wheel is selected with a tire width of 110 mm.

These designs can not only ensure the driving stability of the RA250 on straight roads, but also alleviate the problem of “dumb” and “stupid” in curves, In addition to the relatively light kerb weight, driving the RA250 is still very flexible and easy to control.
