Up to now, Taiwan compatriot Chen Wenren in Sichuan has ridden nearly 40000 kilometers in the mainland to punch in the great rivers and mountains of the motherland.

The same day is December 11, 2021, one month from Chen Wenren’s departure.

On November 12 last year, Chen Wenren started from Sun Yat Sen Park in Kunming, Yunnan Province and rode a motorcycle for 2100 kilometers to Changting, Fujian Province.

After arriving at Changting, he followed the route of the Red Army’s Long March and passed through Jiangxi, Hunan, Guangxi, Guizhou and Sichuan until he stayed in his wife’s hometown Chengdu because of the next section of Gansu snow.

In the first half of the year, Chen Wenren still rode.

According to his planned route, he successfully completed 28 provincial capitals (municipalities directly under the central government and capitals of autonomous regions) in more than three months, with a total journey of more than 30000 kilometers.

“In the past few years of starting a business in the mainland, I have not quite understood what the ‘long march spirit’ is, but now I think I understand it.” On January 5, sitting in his living room in Chengdu, Chen Wenren felt that he had completed a great event.

In more than 140 days, the total mileage of riding was nearly 40000 kilometers.

Two riding experiences in the mainland made him feel the great prosperity of the motherland and touch the historical mark.

He calls himself the big brother of Taiwan.

“The two sides are connected by blood.

On March 9, 2021, Chen Wenren rode from Kunming, Yunnan to Anxi, Fujian, his hometown.

Then he set out from Anxi to start a national cycling trip.

It passed through Nanchang, Changsha, Wuhan, Shanghai, Beijing, Shenyang, Harbin and other cities, then went west to Hohhot, Yinchuan and other places, and finally returned to Anxi in June of that year.

In Wuhan, he climbed the Yellow Crane Tower and looked out at the three towns of Wuhan; In Nanjing, he paid homage to Zhongshan Mausoleum; In Hefei, he visited Baogong temple and Liu Mingchuan’s former residence; There are also tengwangge in Nanchang and juzizhoutou in Changsha…

In Chen Wenren’s motorcycle trunk, there is a banner with the words “pray for the reunification of the motherland”.

Everywhere he went, he would pull up banners in front of local landmark scenic spots and buildings to take pictures.

In front of the monument to the martyrs of the Red Army, Chen Wenren opened a banner with the words “Taiwan compatriots wish the motherland to achieve complete reunification at an early date” and took pictures as a souvenir.

If the respondents say that this trip to the city belongs to Chen Wenren’s own “Long March”, by November 2021, he wants to truly enter history and explore the “Long March Spirit” he has never understood.

Chen Wenren was shocked by the places he passed that day.

He thought a lot about the past and the future.

“I think the places I pass now are the hometown engraved into my heart by the old men.” Chen Wenren is a young man in the dependents’ village.

At the age of 10, after his parents died, he and his brother were taken in by Xu Jinquan, a veteran from Zhoushan, Zhejiang Province.

Since then, they grew up in the dependents’ village.

It is a place full of regret in everyone’s heart.

The people in the dependents’ village take care of each other.

When they get together, they will speak their hometown dialect.

The story chewed over and over again includes the appearance of their hometown, the experience of circulation, and the hometown they don’t know when they can go back.
