@Beijinger: you need to know about driving, cycling and taking the bus in September!
Affected by multiple factors such as the centralized opening of school, large-scale activities, teachers’ day and shopping near the Mid Autumn Festival and national day, the traffic conditions in Beijing are quite stressful every September.
The service trade fair in early September this year also made drivers in Beijing feel the momentum of “the most blocked September”.
In late September, the traffic pressure in Beijing remained relatively prominent.
The morning peak on weekdays will be advanced to 6:45, and the duration will also be extended by one hour, especially the traffic pressure in the morning peak on Monday and the evening peak on Friday (limited to 4 and 9).
The traffic flow of Jingtong expressway, Beijing Hong Kong Macao expressway, Lianshi Road, Wanquanhe Road, Beijing Tibet expressway, Jingcheng expressway, airport expressway, Second Ring Road and Third Ring Road increased significantly.
It is recommended to start more than half an hour in advance for peak travel in the morning and evening.
On the weekend of September, it is expected that the number of tourists will increase significantly compared with the summer.
There will be tidal traffic on expressways such as Beijing Harbin expressway, Beijing Chengdu Expressway and Beijing Tibet expressway, as well as some national highways, which will leave Beijing from Saturday morning to noon and return to Beijing from Sunday afternoon to evening.
Popular scenic spots in previous years, such as Tiananmen Square, Fangshan Shidu, gubeishui town and the Expo, are still hot, and the surrounding roads are prone to vehicle queues and tight parking spaces.
According to the situation in previous years, the planetarium and science and Technology Museum will usher in a small peak of visitors before and after school.
When citizens travel more, they can see real-time road condition information and appropriately avoid places with concentrated traffic flow.
According to statistics, there are 8 public holidays and working days without vehicle restrictions in September this year.
The Traffic Management Department expects that the traffic pressure in the city will surge on the working days before the national day, especially on the 29th and 30th, and major tourist attractions, railway stations and expressways in and out of Beijing are prone to heavy traffic, resulting in traffic congestion.
In addition, after statistical analysis of the accident situation in the first half of the year, the traffic management department screened the following accident prone sections: miguan Road, Beijing Harbin expressway, Shuinan Road (wutunkou guahuayuan road section), Pingcheng Road, manbai Road, Laiguangying North Road, Jiude Road, Jingtong Expressway (Gaobeidian bridge Dawang section), Jingcheng Expressway (Chaoyang section) North East Fourth Ring Road (Siyuanqiao Xinzhuang bridge section).
The traffic control department reminds that drivers passing through the above sections should pay attention to the road conditions, control the driving speed and maintain safe driving.
The traffic administration bureau of Beijing Municipal Public Security Bureau recently issued the “announcement on the new use of mobile monitoring equipment to record key sections of illegal parking”.
The announcement said that in order to further standardize the static order environment of key roads in Beijing and strengthen the law enforcement and rectification of illegal parking, the traffic administration bureau of Beijing Municipal Public Security Bureau will use mobile monitoring equipment to carry out parking law enforcement on 236 sections with no parking signs and markings.
The newly added key sections using mobile monitoring equipment to record illegal parking will be announced.
